What Bitrate should I use ?
In order to find out what bitrate you should use we need to find out what is your internet upload speed. Head to https://www.speedtest.net/ and click on Go. Run the test a couple of times to make sure your connection and upload speed are stable.
If your upload speed is 5Mbps speed or more we recommend setting your Bitrate to 3500.
For connections that are slower then 5Mbps your bitrate should never exceed 70% of you internet upload speed:
upload speed (in Mbps) x 1000 x 70 / 100 = Recommended Bitrate
If my upload speed is 3Mbps -
3 x 1000 x 70 / 100 = 2100 -> The bitrate used should be 2100.
Values for various internet speed:
- 5 Mbps --> 3500 Bitrate
- 4 Mbps --> 2800 Bitrate
- 3 Mbps --> 2100 Bitrate
- 2 Mbps --> 1400 Bitrate
- 1 Mbps --> 700 Bitrate
Now in the Video tab select:
- 1280x720 or less for the Output (scaled) Resolution (1)
- 30 for the Common FPS Values (2)
